Blackpool v Accrington Stanley - Central League Cup

Key Events

  • FT: Blackpool 1-0 Accrington
  • Stephen Dobbie’s side in Central League Cup action
  • Deadline day signing Callum Wright starts

Zak Emmerson misses a big chance to score on his first Blackpool start, volleying wide after being played through by Sonny Carey.

There’s some concern as Grant Ward goes down before requiring medical treatment.

But thankfully the midfielder is able to continue.

Stuart Moore stays tall before making a big save with his legs to deny Joe Hardy.

The chance came after Alex Lankshear had slipped.

37 - Another big save

Stuart Moore gets down to his right to deny Calvin Harper, whose header looked destined for the bottom corner.

CJ Hamilton pulls the ball back to Callum Wright, whose low effort deflects agonisingly wide of the far post.

The referee somehow awards a goal-kick though, much to the incredulity of some of the Blackpool fans here.

An Accrington free-kick causes havoc in the Blackpool box, resulting in a spot of pinball.

The ball eventually goes behind for a corner thanks to important blocks from Luke Garbutt and Alex Lankshear on the goalline.

No goal-line technology here today, of course...

Stephen Dobbie’s side yet to turn their dominance into goals, but Callum Wright is looking promising in his first outing.

Stanley have had one or two moments, but Stuart Moore has made a couple of decent saves.

We’re back underway

Zak Emmerson gets the second-half underway.

No changes for either side.

After a quiet start to the second-half, Accrington go close as substitute Emerich Polly heads over unmarked.

ON: Will Squires, Josh Nyame and Brad Holmes

OFF: Luke Garbutt, Sonny Carey and CJ Hamilton
