'We showed great fight': Neil Critchley delivers his verdict on Blackpool's goal...

The Seasiders weren’t at their best at the Crown Ground this afternoon in a scrappy encounter played in tricky conditions.

Jerry Yates came closest to scoring in the first-half, hitting the foot of the post from CJ Hamilton’s pullback.

But Accrington were the better side in the second period and Dion Charles in particular was guilty of two or three misses.

"It was a good, open game between two good teams," Coleman said.

"They've got good players all over the pitch and great players sat in the stands as well, so they've got great depth.

"Our lads showed a great appetite for the game. It was end-to-end at times in the second half which made for quite an entertaining game.

"It looked like two teams that are capable of challenging for promotion.

"Today we looked like promotion candidates and you've got to act like that, you've got to have that air of confidence without being too cocky.

"On another day we would have won this game. Our players are coming in disappointed because they think it's two points dropped against a very, very good Blackpool team who have been playing outstanding well in the last few weeks.

"It's an appalling decision for the penalty, it defies belief and it's the third week running we've had a decision like that go against us.

"On another day we get that, we convert it and we go on and win the game.

"But it was two teams who try and play the game the right way. They're coached by a very good manager in Critch, a very good footballing person who has got them playing the right way.

"Given the conditions a draw was probably a fair result, but we felt we had the lion's share of the play."
