'Sometimes you have to find different ways': Neil Critchley delighted with Black...

The Seasiders extended their impressive run to eight wins in nine thanks to Gary Madine’s early header.

Dougall, who was in fabulous form once again in the middle of the park, felt Neil Critchley’s men were well worth their three points.

“We’re over the moon with the 1-0 victory,” the 27-year-old said.

“It’s a nice free-kick from Sullay (Kaikai) for the goal and Gary Madine has got the winning goal with the header.

“It keeps our good form going in this short period and hopefully we can continue it going forward.

“We had to defend at times in the second-half, we were quite deep at times, but the boys did it very comfortably and I didn’t feel in trouble at any time throughout the match.

“That proves that we’re a solid unit and it’s going to take good teams to come and beat us, which is something we’ve shown over the last few games.

“Apart from the little slip-up against Doncaster, we’ve been excellent recently and hopefully we can continue that form and get ourselves into the play-off positions.”

It wasn’t the prettiest of games on Saturday, although Blackpool were the side in the ascendancy during the first-half thanks to a controlled display.

But Critchley’s side were on the back foot in the second period and had to soak up plenty of pressure from Fleetwood.

“It was a very scrappy game at times. There were a lot of long balls, second balls and bouncing balls in the middle,” Dougall added.

“That involved a lot of challenges around me and from me, but I’m happy to do it and I enjoyed it.

“We were very comfortable throughout the match and when we’re solid like that and hard to break down, we’re a dangerous team going forward so we will win football matches.”
