While the Australian has only made four appearances for the Seasiders, his quality has been clear to see and he’s made an immediate impact on the Fylde coast.

“Kenny is really important to us, we’re delighted we got him,” Critchley told The Gazette.

“He’s a little bit behind in terms of his fitness and his general rhythm. That will come and we’re starting to see it now because he’s benefitting from the more games he’s playing.

“That little period of playing and then having a little break benefitted him and we really saw what he’s capable of bringing to the team on Saturday.

“He brings a lot in terms of the middle of the pitch, both out of possession and the way he defends but also in possession and his ability to link the back to the front, his calmness in possession and his range of passing as well.

“He’s going to be really important for us this season.”
