Blackpool are getting used to life under Steve Bruce who was appointed as head coach earlier this month.
The 63-year-old spent nearly two-years out of the game, and has so far overseen two games. He guided the Seasiders to their first league success of the season, but was also in the dugout as they lost to his former club Sheffield Wednesday on Tuesday night.
Bruce has given everyone at the club a clean slate, and for those who were out of favour, they're going to get an opportunity to prove themselves to the new boss. A decent enough squad has been assembled for Blackpool to challenge for their goal which is to finish in the top six.
Steve Bruce has been in football for more than 25-years and has an extensive contact book. He joined in September, and that means he wasn't able to add his own stamp on to the squad, but that isn't all bad, as he can look to improve the players have come before him, and give them a chance that they might not have been afforded under the previous regime.
Nevertheless, when Blackpool submitted their squad list to the EFL at the end of the month, it included 19 names, and so there should be two more spaces to sign some free agents. We're a month in to the season now and so for any players without a club, they won't have had a pre-season to get up to speed.
There are some players out there though who could be worth taking a chance on. Adam Reach for example played under Bruce, and was reportedly in talks with several Championship clubs before the window shut.
Here, from an article originally posted on the Yorkshire Post, is a team of players that are still without a club, that could do a job at Bloomfield Road.
