Marvin Ekpiteta, James Husband, Matty Virtue and Ellis Simms have all been rewarded for their impressive displays at the DW Stadium.

Goals from Ekpiteta, Jerry Yates, Virtue and a Simms brace on his first league start saw Neil Critchley’s side win their first League One game since December 15.

With the squad ravaged by injuries and Covid-19, Blackpool just needed a win anyway it came to help reduce the gap to the play-offs.

But they produced some clinical finishing to put the relegation-threatened Latics to the sword, scoring three or more goals for only the second time in the league this season.

Joe Day (Bristol Rovers), Max Power (Sunderland), Andy Butler and Taylor Richards (Doncaster Rovers), Olly Lee (Gillingham), Liam Millar (Charlton Athletic) and Matty Lund (Rochdale) make up the rest of the team.
