The 66-year-old, who has previously taken charge of seven top-flight sides, has never been relegated from the Premier League.

The former England boss managed Blackpool between 1994 and 1996, losing his job after the Seasiders were defeated in the 1995/96 Division Three play-off final.

West Brom, newly promoted from the Championship, face Blackpool at Bloomfield Road on Saturday, January 9 in the third round of the FA Cup.
