Neil Critchley: More experienced players may not be the answer for Blackpool

With Blackpool leading 2-1 against the Imps on Saturday with seven minutes to go, Husband was dispossessed by Lincoln’s Brennan Johnson on the edge of his own box.

The 26-year-old desperately tried to recover but, in his attempt to win the ball back, he hauled the forward to the ground in the 18-yard box.

Husband was subsequently shown a straight red card by the referee, who also pointed to the penalty spot.

The spot kick was converted by Jorge Grant, his second penalty of the game, before the Imps went on to claim the three points against the 10 men of Blackpool with an 88th-minute winner from Lewis Montsma.

The FA has confirmed Husband will now serve a one-match ban for denying an "obvious goalscoring opportunity".

The defender will now miss Blackpool's game against Ipswich Town next Saturday, a fixture brought forward from November.

The Seasiders had originally been scheduled to make the trip to Sunderland this weekend, but the game was cancelled and rearranged for Tuesday, December 22 after Sunderland had three players called up for international duty.

Rather than have a free weekend, the Seasiders got in touch with Ipswich, whose scheduled game against Charlton Athletic also fell foul to the international break, with the Addicks having three players called up.

The game, which will take place at Bloomfield Road, was originally scheduled for November 14.

Husband will still be available for Blackpools EFL Trophy group game against Accrington Stanley tomorrow night.
