If they're successful, they will face Spain, Poland and Sweden in next year's competition.

Northern Ireland then face Nations League group games against Austria (November 15) and Romania (November 18).

The Arsenal loanee will subsequently miss Blackpool's EFL Trophy group game against Leeds United's Under-21s, which takes place next Wednesday.

Ballard remains unavailable for Sunday's FA Cup first round tie against Eastbourne Borough, as he serves the final game of his three-match suspension for the red card he received in the recent defeat to AFC Wimbledon.
