Blackpool's Armand Gnanduillet named in EFL's team of the week alongside Birmingham, West Brom, Portsmouth and Coventry men
Armand Gnanduillet has been named in the EFL's team of the week for his match-winning brace in Blackpool's 2-1 win against Southend United on Saturday.
The striker took his tally for the season to 17 goals from 32 games in all competitions with a brace at the weekend to help Simon Grayson's men finally get back to winning ways.
The 27-year-old headed home from Liam Feeney's cross to give Blackpool a first-half lead before doubling that lead from the penalty spot in the second half.
But the Frenchman also drew praise for his defensive work, the striker winning several headers in Blackpool's own box as they held onto the three points late on after Stephen McLaughlin had pulled a goal back for Southend.
Gnanduillet is joined by Peterborough United's Ivan Toney in the team of the week after the striker netted brace in the 4-0 win against Oxford United.
Toney currently leads the way in the League One scoring charts with 21 goals, while Gnanduillet is joint-second with 14.
Also included in the team is former Blackpool man Tom Barkhuizen, who netted in Preston North End's win at Wigan Athletic on Saturday.
Lee Camp (Birmingham City), Dara O'Shea (West Brom), Sean Raggett (Portsmouth), Fankaty Dabo (Coventry City) and Sammie Szmodics (Peterborough United) are also among those to be included.
Nottingham Forest boss Sabri Lamouchi is named manager of the week in the EFL after masterminding his side to an impressive win against Leeds United.
