Key Events

  • FT: Carlisle 0-2 Blackpool
  • Stephen Dobbie’s side back in action in the Central League
  • Game kicks off at Brunton Park at 2pm

Brad Holmes appears to be shoved to the ground inside the Carlisle box as he looks to surge through on goal, but the referee remains unmoved.

Blackpool’s appeals were fairly muted, to be fair.

Tayt Trusty sets up a Blackpool attack with a lovely deft touch, with the ball then being shifted over to Donovan Lescott over on the right wing. He moves the ball onto his left foot before shooting into the side netting.

Really good play from the Seasiders, that.

Carlisle put together a rare move forward which ends with their right-back producing a wayward cross which almost deceives Pool keeper Archie Cunningham, but he does well to palm it clear.

Owen Moffat, who keeps picking up the ball in little pockets of space, looks to find Dannen Francis with a slide-rule pass, but the Carlisle left-back does well to clear for a corner.

Owen Moffat receives the ball in the Carlisle box before opening his body to set up the angle to shoot, but his effort is blocked and deflected into the hands of the Carlisle keeper.

Tayt Trusty is shown a yellow card for a tough challenge on Carlisle’s number six. He can have no complaints with that one.

Jamie Devitt delivers an excellent free-kick which is headed towards goal by Tobi Sho-Silva, but Archie Cunningham does well to tip it wide.

That’s the closest Carlisle have come so far.

Owen Moffat spots the keeper off his line after running onto Brad Holmes’ flick on, but he doesn’t quite connect with his shot as he would have liked and he side foots straight into the keeper’s hands.

39 - GOAL BLACKPOOL! (0-1)

Brad Holmes starts and finishes the move, sliding in to turn home Harvey Hughes' left-wing cross.

A superb goal and well deserved.

Jamie Devitt tries his luck with a wide free-kick but his effort is straight into the Blackpool wall.
