Blackpool v West Brom - live updates

Key Events

  • FT: Blackpool 0-0 West Brom
  • Seasiders host high-flying Baggies at Bloomfield Road
  • Neil Critchley’s men bidding to close the gap to Championship play-offs

Good chance goes to waste for West Brom’s Alex Mowatt, who blazes over after being set up by Conor Townsend.

West Brom gift the ball straight to Josh Bowler, who slips in Shayne Lavery who initially gets the ball stuck under his feet. The Northern Irishman finally manages to scoop the ball towards goal, but Sam Johnstone makes the save.

Good stuff from the Seasiders though.

Ryan Wintle and Josh Bowler stand over a free kick in a good crossing position for the Seasiders.

Bowler is the man to take it and his delivery causes havoc in the Baggies box as James Husband heads it back across goal into the danger area. Gary Madine can’t quite force it home.

That’s a big let-off for Dan Grimshaw, who passes the ball straight to West Brom’s Grady Diangana as the Seasiders look to play their way out from the back.

Diangana drags his effort well wide though.

Jordan Gabriel learns his lesson from the QPR game and gets tight to Karlan Grant, who looks to cut in from the left to unleash a long-range effort.

Gabriel makes an important interception though.

Shayne Lavery looks to latch onto Keshi Anderson’s clever volleyed through-ball, but the linesman’s flag belatedly goes up just as he’s about to gain possession.

Real tempo to this game so far.

West Brom keeper and England international Sam Johnstone makes a real hash of a passback, skewing it out to the right after the ball appeared to take a bobble.

The visitors get away with it though.

Feisty, quick start here with the ball bouncing around, with neither side able to get the ball under control.

Should make for an entertaining affair if it remains like this for the full 90.

Ryan Wintle gets the game underway.

The teams have changed ends and the Seasiders will kick towards the North Stand in the first-half.

Up the mighty Pool!!
