Key Events

  • Seasiders host Paul Ince’s Royals in first game of the season

  • Richard Keogh an injury doubt

Tom Ince delivers a deep corner which Tom McIntyre heads towards goal, but it hits a Blackpool defender and goesbehind for another corner.

28 - Impressive Fiorini

Lewis Fiorini continues to run the game from a deeper midfield role. Reading happy to give him acres of space to do as he wishes.

Goalscorer Callum Connolly is currently down receiving treatment after taking an accidental boot to the head.

Looks fine to continue though.

A second slack pass of the game from Marvin Ekpiteta is pounced upon by Reading, who work the ball forward to Yakou Meite, whose shot is weak and straight at Dan Grimshaw.

All calmed down a little since the goal. Blackpool very calm in possession as they look to build in their attacks from the back.

15 - Reading go close

Tom Ince's effort deflects wide off Dom Thompson after Lewis Fiorini, who has started so well, is dispossessed in the middle of the park.

Blackpool so strong down their right in the early stages - Reading struggling to deal with Connolly and Bowler.

9 - GOAL BLACKPOOL!!! (1-0)

What a finish from the defender! Connolly slams home high into the roof of the net after Joe Lumley had made another excellent reaction stop to deny Josh Bowler.

Just the start Blackpool needed!

Callum Connolly beats his man by the touchline before pulling the ball back to Josh Bowler, whose first-time effort is well saved by Joe Lumley.

Josh Bowler wins Blackpool the first corner of the game.

Good start here from the Seasiders.
