Blackpool v Millwall - live updates

Key Events

  • LIVE: Blackpool 1-1 Millwall
  • Seasiders return to league action after a three-week absence
  • Neil Critchley’s men looking to put FA Cup disappointment behind them

Jake Cooper’s towering header is easily saved by Dan Grimshaw.

There’s a bit of danger down Blackpool’s left hand side, but Jordan Gabriel is able to clear at the back post. Millwall still have the ball though.

Luke Garbutt is forced off through injury, leaving the Seasiders without a recognised left-back.

Jordan Gabriel replaces him and Dujon Sterling moves over.

54 - GOAL BLACKPOOL!!! (1-0)

Shayne Lavery gives Blackpool the lead!

The Northern Irishman drills home on the rebound after CJ Hamilton had been thwarted by the Millwall keeper.

A deserved opener for the Seasiders!

The North Stand raise the noise levels another notch as Dujon Sterling wins Blackpool a corner, which Millwall just about deal with.

Both Callum Connolly and Richard Keogh had good opportunities to get shots off at goal, but failed to make the required contact.

Now Gary Madine goes close, volleying wide from Shayne Lavery’s lay-off. Blackpool pressing for the game’s opening goal.

Shayne Lavery somehow manages to turn the ball wide from a matter of yards following Luke Garbutt’s corner.

In his defence, it didn’t look as though Lavery knew a great deal about the chance.

Marvin Ekpiteta blocks Benik Afobe’s shot after the forward beat Richard Keogh for pace.

At the other end, Shayne Lavery’s shot deflects over for a Blackpool corner.

We’re back underway

Callum Connolly kicks off the second-half.

Both sides are unchanged.

Tight stuff, but the Seasiders have edged it in terms of general play and chances. Not the most gripping of halves, but I like the bravery Pool are showing in building attacks from deep.
