Blackpool v Fulham - live updates

Key Events

  • FT: Blackpool 1-0 Fulham
  • Seasiders take on league leaders on their return from the international break
  • Four new recruits in line to make their debuts
  • Neil Critchley’s men still searching for first league win

Fulham threaten for the first time though Ivan Cavaleiro, who gets through down the channel before skewing over. Bit of early danger there for the Seasiders.

Jerry Yates can’t quite reach Keshi Anderson’s through-ball, but he does brilliantly to play the ball off the Fulham defender and win Pool an early corner. A huge roar erupts as the referee points to the corner flag - that was some noise.

Luke Garbutt’s delivery is cleared though.

Tyreece John-Jules gets on the ball in the final third, turns and opts to play the ball out wide to Josh Bowler. The winger plays it back to Jordan Gabriel, but the visitors scramble it clear.

Good intent early on from the Seasiders.

Fulham’s Aleksander Mitrovic gets the game underway. Come on you Pool!

And kick-off is moments away.

Can the Seasiders cause an upset against the league leaders and claim their first league win of the season? We don’t have long to find out.

Up the mighty Pool!!

Neil Critchley hands a debut to Ryan Wintle, following the midfielder’s move to Bloomfield Road during the final days of the transfer window.

The Cardiff City loanee starts in central midfield alongside Kevin Stewart, who makes his first start of the season.

Jordan Gabriel is also handed a ‘second debut’, so to speak, starting at right-back ahead of Dujon Sterling, who starts the game on the bench.

Fellow deadline day signing Owen Dale is not involved.

Elsewhere, Tyreece John-Jules is preferred to Shayne Lavery in attack following the duo’s return from international duty.

Lavery, who started Northern Ireland’s games against Lithuania and Switzerland, only took part in training on Friday, while John-Jules was involved the day before.

Kenny Dougall, meanwhile, is only named on the bench despite not featuring for Australia during their World Cup qualifiers against China and Vietnam.

James Husband recovers from the calf injury that kept him out of Blackpool’s last league game, the 2-1 defeat to Millwall, to be named on the bench along with Daniel Gretarsson.

Matty Virtue (ACL), Grant Ward (achilles), Demetri Mitchell (knee), CJ Hamilton (foot) and Gary Madine (groin) all remain sidelined.

Teddy Howe, Oliver Sarkic, Bez Lubala and Joe Nuttall continue to be left out having not been named in Blackpool’s 25-man squad.

Fulham, who start the day top of the Championship table, name a star-studded line-up that includes the likes of Tosin Adarabioyo, Bobby Decordova-Reid and Aleksander Mitrovic.
