Key Events

  • FT: Blackpool 2-1 Blackburn Rovers
  • Seasiders looking to get back to winning ways after midweek disappointment at Hull
  • Rovers flying high in 6th place after first 10 games
  • Bumper crowd expected for final game before the international break

Excellent half from the Seasiders - some of the football they’ve played has been a joy to watch. Only negative is Lavery’s injury.

Due to the knocks, there will be four minutes of time added on at the end of the first half.

Josh Bowler has just had a long-range shot blocked after Blackburn were dispossessed of the ball.

41 - Blow for Blackburn

Now it's Blackburn's turn to lose one of their forward men, as striker Sam Gallagher is forced off with an injury. Tayo Edun is the man to replace him.

38 - Penalty shout?

Gary Madine’s cross deflects up to the back post, where Jerry Yates looks certain to beat his man to ball and head home his second of the game. Yates appears to be hauled to the ground though, but the referee doesn’t spot it.

Keshi Anderson then gets to the byline and pulls the ball back into the six-yard box, but his cross is cleared just as Gary Madine was ready to pounce.

Really, really good from the Seasiders.

37 - Great to watch

Blackpool are full of confidence here and some of their play from deep has been a joy to watch.

It’s crazy to think they were a League One side not long ago, because they look far from it.

35 - Away fans aren’t happy

“Mowbray, sort it out” is the chant from the Blackburn fans around me in the press box.

They’ve not been great, but let’s give Blackpool credit. They’ve been superb.

25 - GOAL BLACKPOOL!!!!! (2-0)

What an introduction for Jerry Yates!

Just three minutes after coming on, the striker doubles Blackpool’s lead. It’s a close-range header from the striker, who had the simple task of nodding home after Thomas Kaminski had saved Gary Madine’s first effort.

Jerry Yates is the man to replace Shayne Lavery, who clutches his thigh as he trudges off. Not good.

Shayne Lavery has gone down holding his thigh. The physio is signalling to the bench that a change will have to be made.

Nightmare.

Blackpool are having to do a bit of defending now as Blackburn build up some pressure. They have another corner in the North-East corner.

Daniel Ayala wins his header at the back post, but Chris Maxwell is there to make a flying save. The referee had whistled for a foul, in any case.
