How the Blackpool squad currently looks heading into the final day of the transfer window
Deadline Day is here for Blackpool and others across the EFL.
Blackpool have enjoyed a productive summer on paper - with eight new players making the move to Bloomfield Road so far.
Dion Charles, Ilmari Niskanen, Karoy Anderson, Jordan Williams, Finley Munroe, Luke Southwood, Jerry Yates and Josh Earl have all joined the Seasiders over the last few months to boost Ian Evatt’s options.
There’s still time for more business to be done, and for players to depart the Fylde Coast, with the transfer window slamming shut at 11pm this evening.
Here’s how the Blackpool squad currently looks:
Goalkeepers: Bailey Peacock-Farrell, Luke Southwood

This department has been sorted for a while. Bailey Peacock-Farrell signed a one-year extension at the start of the summer, securing the Seasiders first-choice, while the club acted swiftly to bring in Luke Southwood as cover earlier this month following Franco Ravizzoli’s departure.
Central defenders: Jordan Williams, Olly Casey, Fraser Horsfall, Michael Ihiekwe, Andy Lyons, Zac Ashworth, Josh Earl.

To be picky, Blackpool could do with maybe one more central defender.
Josh Earl has the profile that’s been required on the left of the back three all summer, and will compete with Zac Ashworth.
Olly Casey is of course reliable either to the right or bang in the middle, and the next priority should be getting him tied down with a new deal.
The concerns surrounding Fraser Horsfall and Michael Ihiekwe are their injury records in Tangerine. Both are experienced, but need a real run with full fitness.
Jordan Williams has done well on the right of the three so far, and Andy Lyons has proved himself to be good cover there too, but that’s perhaps the profile where an additional natural could be added to allow the others to move further up the field.
Any further additions would require a bit of movement, but this could be where it’s required.
Wing-backs: Josh Bowler, Ilmari Niskanen, CJ Hamilton, Hayden Coulson, Finley Munroe.

There’s a decent mix of options out wide now, including Williams and Lyons on the right if needed.
Josh Bowler has been electric once again the early weeks of the season, and has made the wing his home again.
New additions Ilmari Niskanen and Finley Munroe haven’t had extended runs just yet, but come with good CVs.
Midfielders: Jordan Brown, Albie Morgan, George Honeyman, Karoy Anderson, Leighton Clarkson.

The midfield has a nice balance to it on paper. Jordan Brown tends to do the dirty work without the ball, Karoy Anderson is the glue that brings everything together, and the others can have a bit more of a forward focus.
Strikers: Niall Ennis, Tom Bloxham, Dale Taylor, Dion Charles, Kylian Kouassi, Jerry Yates.

Blackpool certainly shouldn’t be short of goals at the top end of the pitch.
The only further bit of movement to be expected in this department is an exit for Kylian Kouassi - who is down the pecking order when everyone’s fit and firing.
