The Royals opened the scoring in the 12th minute. Space opened up down the left for Kyreece Lisbie - who slipped a ball to the back post for George Earthy to tap home uncontested.
Either side of the goal, the opening exchanges had offered a couple of chances to Jack Marriott, with one attempt blocked by Josh Earl and another saved by the in-form Bailey Peacock-Farrell.
There was also a chance for Earthy to bag another, but could only direct a header over the crossbar after another dangerous cross by Lisbie.
In the first half, the Seasiders were limited in what they could do. Their best opportunity came after a clever flick from Jerry Yates into the path of Dion Charles - who was quickly closed down by the Reading defence to contain the shot.
There was a massive let off for Karoy Anderson at the beginning of the second half, with the midfielder playing a weak blind pass right to Marriott.
Fortunately for the captain on the day, the Reading man dragged his shot well wide of the target as he looked to catch Peacock-Farrell off his line.
Unfortunately for the Blackpool keeper, his blushes wouldn’t be spared for an error shortly after.
After creating very little, the visitors registered a goal heading into the final 10 minutes.
Impact sub Tom Bloxham pulled a ball back for Leighton Clarkson, with the midfielder smashing past Joel Pereira.
After having a goal disallowed for offside in stoppage time, Reading were able to re-extend their lead.
With Evatt’s side open at the back, Daniel Kyerewaa laid the ball off to Brown for an easy finish.
