With a number of impressive saves already under his belt throughout the opening month of the season, Bailey Peacock-Farrell was on hand with another.
After finding some space down the left, Owura Edwards whipped a ball to the back post for Harry Leonard - who saw his close-range header stopped by some quick reactions from the Seasiders goalkeeper.
Down the other end, it was Ian Evatt’s side who opened the scoring in the 18th minute, with the deadlock being broken by Jorfan Williams after some defensive confusion in the box.
Blackpool were swift in doubling their lead, and left no time for the Posh to compose themselves.
A shot from Josh Bowler was parried by Alex Bass, with Dion Charles being the first to react from close-range to finish for his first goal in Tangerine.
After some poor defending from the visitors, there were some woes in attack. Edwards was on hand with another impressive ball into the box, but Ethan Williams could only his first-time effort over the crossbar.
There were opportunities for the Seasiders to extend their lead further ahead of the break. Bass was able to make up for earlier errors, stopping a curling effort from Charles, before denying Bowler - who fired towards the front post.
The start of the second half followed a similar pattern to the first. Peacock-Farrell was on hand with another strong save, this time denying Williams, before Blackpool pounced at the other end.
A George Honeyman cross from the right was met by Karoy Anderson - who flicked home a header across the face of goal.
Jerry Yates’ introduction came just after the hour mark, and it took him only nine minutes get register the first goal of his second spell, following his loan move from Luton Town last week.
With the ball loose in the box, the forward pounced from close-range to make it 4-0.

3. Jordan Williams - 8
A lot to like from Jordan Williams again on the right of defence, with a reward coming down the other end in the form of a goal - which needed a striker-like instinct to convert. Photo: Gareth Evans

4. Olly Casey - 8
Olly Casey was solid at the back once again for the Seasiders, reaching his usual high standards. As a collective, you could tell in the first half they were still gelling, but individually they all did their jobs. Photo: Gareth Evans

5. Josh Earl - 8
Josh Earl was on hand with some strong challenges on his first outing in Tangerine, and will look to grow more into the role on the left over the next few weeks. His height will certainly be a great asset. Photo: Gareth Evans

6. Josh Bowler - 7
