It wasn’t the most eye-catching of displays from the Seasiders, but at least Michael Appleton’s side stopped the rot after suffering four straight defeats before the break.
Here’s how Pool’s players rated:
7. Kenny Dougall - 6/10
Generally neat and tidy in possession but dropped a bit too deep for my liking to come and collect the ball. Photo: CameraSport - Dave Howarth
8. Charlie Patino - 5/10
Didn’t see a great deal of him unfortunately. Birmingham starved the loanee of possession and he struggled to make an impact as a result. Photo: CameraSport - Dave Howarth
9. Sonny Carey - 5/10
Likewise to Patino, struggled to get in the game. Did squander one big chance though when he dragged a shot wide. Photo: CameraSport - Dave Howarth
10. Shayne Lavery - 6/10
Showed plenty of energy and tried to put Birmingham under pressure. Wounded up their fans as well which was a bonus. Photo: CameraSport - Dave Howarth
11. Jerry Yates - 5/10
Well marshalled by Birmingham which meant he had very little impact on the game. Subbed off late on. Photo: CameraSport - Dave Howarth
12. Gary Madine - 6/10
Nodded a header wide and looked to hold the ball up. Thankfully it was illness and not an injury which forced him off. Photo: CameraSport - Dave Howarth
