Blackpool midfielder backs the Seasiders to climb the table

The Seasiders currently find themselves second bottom of the League One table after losing five of their first seven games.

Williams, a summer arrival from Rochdale, doesn’t believe the results tell the whole story and has backed the Seasiders to climb the table sooner rather than later.

“I know, as a team, we’ll be right up there this season,” the 24-year-old said.

“It’s been a difficult start but we’re a new group of lads still gelling together. Every day in training, I can see that we’re starting to get to know each other’s games. I’m sure when it all clicks, we’ll be at the top.

“The games we’ve played so far, I wouldn’t say we’ve played badly. We just haven’t scored as many as perhaps we ought to have done.

“I’m sure we’ll soon get points on the board and start winning to put ourselves right up there.

“We can still take positives from the games we’ve played but we just need to close the door and win more games.

“It does hurt, it’s hurting all of us, but it’s a very honest group we’ve got here with some top players around.”
