Neil Critchley surprised to see Blackpool linked with Tottenham, Sheffield Unite...

The 22-year-old leaves Bloomfield Road having made 15 appearances this season, with only three of those coming from the start in League One.

The right winger scored his first goal for the club in the 3-0 EFL Trophy win against Leeds United’s Under-21s, before following that up with another strike in Blackpool’s 4-0 FA Cup win against Harrogate Town.

"The club would like to thank Dan for all his efforts in tangerine and wish him the very best of luck for the future," Blackpool said in a statement confirming Kemp's departure.

Kemp’s exit leaves Blackpool short on attacking options in the wide positions, with CJ Hamilton and Keshi Anderson currently sidelined with hamstring injuries.

Ben Woodburn, meanwhile, could be heading back to Liverpool with his loan spell due to expire on Sunday.

Sullay Kaikai and Bez Lubala are Blackpool’s only recognised wingers that are currently fit, although the likes of Demetri Mitchell, Oliver Sarkic and Jerry Yates are capable of filling in if required.

Kemp makes the move back down to League Two having enjoyed a loan spell with Stevenage last season, a stint that was cut short by Covid-19.

“I’m delighted to be here," Kemp said of his move.

"It is a great club and I can’t wait to get going.

"The manager is a massive part of me joining. His philosophy is exciting and his reputation of developing young players is something that attracted me.”
