The midfielder, who spent last season on loan with Oxford United, played under Neil Critchley during his time at Liverpool.

The 21-year-old, who made his Liverpool debut against Sunderland in 2016, has made 11 competitive appearances for Jurgen Klopp’s men.

He made 16 appearances for Oxford last season, scoring once, in a spell marred by two separate foot injuries.

The attacking midfielder previously played eight games for Sheffield United during a loan spell in 2018/19, scoring once.

The Welshman had also been linked with Hull City and Sparta Rotterdam this summer.

Woodburn has also been capped 10 times by his country, scoring on his debut with a 25-yard strike in a 1-0 win against Austria in 2017.

In doing so, he became Wales’ second youngest goalscorer behind Gareth Bale.

He scored a second goal for Wales in a 1-0 friendly win against Trinidad and Tobago in March 2019.

Woodburn, whose birthday was yesterday, wouldn’t count towards Blackpool’s 22-man squad as he’s under the age of 21.
