Neil Critchley has suggested Burton Albion’s position at the bottom of the League One table doesn’t tell the whole story.

The Brewers have won only one of their opening nine league games this season, losing five.

However, they came from behind twice on Tuesday night to claim a point at Peterborough United on the back of a 1-1 draw at the weekend against AFC Wimbledon, the side that beat Blackpool in midweek.

“I think by the end of the season, how the league might look might be different to how it looks at the moment,” Critchley said.

“Not with everyone, obviously, but with some teams. There’s not a lot between the teams, you only have to look at the results, they’re very up and down and there’s a lot of tight games.

“For me, there’s not a runaway championship-winning team.

“Burton, they came from behind a couple of times against Peterborough the other night and they’ve got a real good spirit.

“They’ve carried on from Nigel Clough with Jake Buxton, who obviously played under him.

“They have a real togetherness and spirit about them, which they showed against Peterborough and they’ve got some players who are proven at this level.

“Away from home, it’s a tough game which they all are in this division.”

James Husband returns from his second suspension of the campaign but Luke Garbutt, Matty Virtue and Keshi Anderson remain out through injury.

“We don’t have any other injury concerns from Tuesday night,” Critchley said.

“The other boys that have been out injured, I doubt they’ll be available for Saturday and for Wigan on Tuesday. Everyone else is okay.

“James Husband has served his suspension, so he’ll be available for Saturday.”
