Blackpool FC transfer deadline day - live updates

Key Events

  • Seasiders have until 11pm to complete their transfer business
  • Mick McCarthy unsure if Blackpool will make any further additions
  • Ewan Bange leaves to join non-league side in permanent deal
  • Richard O’Donnell leaves backroom staff

A word on a former Seasider

It looks like Rhys Williams could be in the frame for some game time at Liverpool, having been recalled from his loan at Bloomfield Road earlier this month.

Ibrahima Konate has been ruled out for three weeks with a hamstring injury, while Virgil van Dijk is already sidelined.

The situation may scupper a potential deadline-day move by Nat Phillips, who has been linked with Turkish club Galatasaray.

Still all quiet on the western front.

I’ve just been taking a quick look at Blackpool’s squad numbers and, should things remain as they are, Mick McCarthy has some big, big calls to make when it comes to the 25-man squad list (which must be submitted once the window closes).

Realistically, 19 players are guaranteed to be included, leaving six spaces free. But I count around 10 players that will be battling it out for those spots, so four can expect to be left extremely disappointed.

A name Blackpool were linked with earlier in the window

This fan raises a good question...

But don’t worry, I am still here. There’s just absolutely nothing to report...

Not long to go now until the transfer window closes.

Blackpool aren’t expected to complete any final business having completed their dealings earlier in the window.

Obviously that’s subject to change and anything can happen on deadline day, but nothing is anticipated at this moment in time.

The update is...there is no update.

We’re not expecting any business, either in or out, during the final two hours of the window. So feel free to go to bed early!

A defeat for Blackpool’s relegation rivals

11pm - WINDOW HAS CLOSED

The January transfer window has now closed. Blackpool’s business is done.

You’re free to go to bed now!

How do you evaluate Blackpool’s business?

INS: Andy Lyons, Morgan Rogers, Josh Bowler, Tom Trybull, Charlie Goode and Curtis Nelson

OUTS: Rhys Williams, Grant Ward, Callum Wright and Theo Corbeanu?

Marks out of 10? I’d say a solid 7.
