Blackpool FC Community Trust column: Academic results speak for our work

Education is a key focus of our provision and we are immensely proud of our Sports College.

Our students didn’t miss out on any education delivery through lockdown as we were able to utilise digital methods to continue to support our students.

While we are extremely focused on making sure we can return to face-to-face delivery from September – and have made all necessary arrangements to do so – if another lockdown situation was to occur, we’re ready to continue our work that way too.

Congratulations to everybody that has received any results over the past week or so.

On a more personal note, all of our BFC Sports College students have received their end-of-year results, and we saw every single one of them pass their BTEC qualification.

We also achieved our highest Maths and English qualifications to date.

This is a great advertisement for our education courses and is another example of our high standards and the quality of our delivery.

We split our classes into groups of approximately 15 students and assign a full-time teacher to each group, plus additional support staff and coaches to ensure all of our students get all the support they need.

Every element of our entire education provision is delivered by our own staff, allowing us to maintain our high quality and values at all times.

This past week is always an important one for us too, because it’s the time that our new BTEC students start to sign up for the next academic year.

We have already seen 62 students sign up for the new season, and for anyone still interested, there are places available.

We also still have places available for our Foundation Degree and Degree courses, where you can specialise in community football coaching or sports coaching and development, with the largest sporting organisation in Blackpool.

Either of these can potentially lead to a full-time career with the Trust or any other sporting role in a professional, community or teaching environment.

For more information on our degree options and the funding available to you, please call 01253 348691.
