The German brand replaces Errea, which has supplied Blackpool’s kits since 2013.

However, the club ended its kit deal with the Italian sportswear brand after encountering issues with stock and delivery times last summer.

“It is fantastic news that Puma has become part of the Blackpool Football Club family,” chief commercial officer Linton Brown said.

“I believe combining with them will enable us to continue to drive forward.

“The club has been working closely with Puma to design and produce quality kit and apparel which will be well received by the players, staff and supporters.

“This long-term partnership highlights the progress that continues to be made commercially at Bloomfield Road. I look forward to working with them in the months and years to come.”

Puma, the third largest sportswear manufacturer in the world behind Nike and Adidas, already supply kit for the likes of Manchester City, AC Milan, Borussia Dortmund and Marseille.

The Seasiders released a teaser video earlier today with the tagline “a new era begins”, featuring Stanley Matthews celebrating the 1953 FA Cup final win.

Goals from Sullay Kaikai and Nathan Delfouneso are also included in the clip.

Puma Business Development Manager Brian Morley added: “We are delighted to become the official kit and training wear provider for Blackpool Football Club.

“Our Product Development Department has been working closely with the club’s senior management team over the last few months to ensure we deliver the best possible kit and training wear product for both the supporters and players for the new season.

“We can’t wait to see the squad back in the shirt once the new season is underway.”

The club will release a preview of the training wear and new kit on its website and social media channels in the coming days.

A date for sale will then be announced in due course.
