The 29-year-old made his Blackpool debut last night in the 1-0 defeat against Shrewsbury Town.

The Reading loanee was Pool's standout performer, making a fine double save from Shrewsbury's penalty only for Dan Udoh to tap home on the rebound.

The shot stopper made a couple of other impressive stops and commanded his box well throughout.

Walker was initially due to make his first Blackpool appearance on Boxing Day, only for the scheduled fixture against Rochdale to be called off due to a positive Covid test in the Rochdale camp.

The goalkeeper's seven-day loan deal was due to end today, but with Chris Maxwell still self-isolating the Seasiders have moved swiftly to extend it by a further week.

It means Walker will start in goal for Blackpool's trip to Bristol Rovers on Saturday.
