The pressure is all on Blackpool in FA Cup first round tie says Eastbourne boss

The midfielder took a knock to his elbow in last week’s 2-1 win at Burton Albion and has since undergone a scan.

The results haven’t been quite as positive as head coach Neil Critchley would have hoped and the 25-year-old has subsequently been ruled out of Sunday’s FA Cup first round tie against Eastbourne Borough.

“We’ve not had great news with Jordan unfortunately, so he’s going to be missing for the next few weeks,” Critchley said.

“He’s got a problem with his elbow. There’s not a definite timeframe for when he’ll return but it’s got to heal, so we’re looking at weeks rather than days with him. That’s unfortunate.”

While Dan Ballard and Ethan Robson remain suspended for Sunday’s cup clash, and Matty Virtue continues to recover from injury, the Seasiders have decisions to make over the likes of Luke Garbutt, Keshi Anderson, Ben Woodburn and Oliver Sarkic.

“We’ve had better news with Oli Sarkic though regarding his scan, so we’re hopeful he can still be involved on Sunday,” Critchley added.

“Ethan and Dan Ballard are still suspended, so they sit out their final game.

“Luke Garbutt and Keshi Anderson are getting closer. I wouldn’t want to rule either of them out, but they’ve been out for three or four weeks so to throw them straight back into a game like this would be a bit of a risk. But they’re getting closer.

“Ben Woodburn will just be coming out of his period of self-isolation, so that’s something we need to discuss over the next 48 hours and see where he’s at in terms of his levels of fitness and his health as well.

“He’s very close though.”
