Last week Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced that plans for spectators to return to football stadiums from October 1 will not go ahead as originally hoped.

By analysing the cost of a pint and a pie, along with last season's attendance numbers at each of the League One's stadiums, money.co.uk have calculated the estimated revenue lost per game and for the season with limited fans in the stands.

For every game without fans, Blackpool could lose an estimated £52,620 at the concession stands.

If the rule on no spectators becomes season long, Blackpool could lose £1,157,640.

Unsurprisingly, the clubs which have the largest stadiums are set to lose the most in the coming weeks.

Without fans, Sunderland are set to lose £218,282 per game and £4,802,213 if this rule lasts all season.

Charlton Athletic and Ipswich Town are also expected to lose around £3m if fans can't return this season.

At the other end of the spectrum are Accrington Stanley, who thanks to their stadium's smaller capacity, are set to lose around £17,172 per game and £377,784 over the season.

Fleetwood Town, meanwhile, will lose around £20,345 per game and £447,590 over the course of the season.

Should clubs be permitted to open their grounds at 25 per cent capacity for the season, the Seasiders would still lose £26,007 per game and £572,154 over the course of the campaign.

Fleetwood would lose £8,630 a game and £189,868 over the season.

Collectively, it is estimated that League One clubs could lose over £1.5m per game (£1,543,422) without fans and an eye-watering £34m (£33,955,293) if fans are unable to return all season.

Figures have been calculated with the assumption that every person could purchase at least one of each item.
