The 27-year-old, who becomes Blackpool’s 12th signing of the summer, has penned a 12-month contract with the Seasiders.

The defender makes the move to Bloomfield Road after leaving his boyhood club Everton earlier in the summer, having initially joined the Goodison Park club in 2009.

The former England Under-21 international will now compete with Demetri Mitchell and James Husband for the left-back spot.

“I’m pleased to be here and looking forward to working under Neil Critchley,” Garbutt said.

“I really like what the head coach had to say when I spoke to him a few days ago and he was a big factor in my move here.

“He’s spent the last few years at Liverpool and developed players really well, so I’m looking forward to what the future brings here.
