The Seasiders, who have won three of their last four games in League One, now take a break from league action to focus on Sunday’s FA Cup first round tie at Eastbourne Borough.

Critchley’s side will then be aiming to seal qualification from their EFL Trophy group on Wednesday night, when they take on Leeds United’s Under-21s.

Blackpool head into both games full of confidence following their recent turnaround in form.

Critchley said: “It keeps us moving forward now because it’s three wins out of four in the league.

“Those games were going against us earlier in the season but now it’s going for us, like it did against Burton on Saturday as well.

“I said a few weeks ago football can change very quickly with the amount of games we’re playing and the mood is definitely changing.

“I said to the players before the game we face a big week, a big 10 days because we’ve got a tough FA Cup game coming up away from home and then we play Leeds Under-21s at home in the EFL Trophy.

“Our aim is to still be in two competitions in a week’s time and we’re moving in the right direction in the league as well.

“To have that change in mood is really important. You know when you go through that little period that it’s difficult to keep the belief.

“It’s difficult because you feel like you’re saying the same thing after each game.

“Now the belief and the confidence is there, but I have to say the boys have stuck together and they have shown belief in what we’re doing. They’re getting the rewards for that now.

“But we didn’t get too down when we were losing because we were doing lots of things very well and we don’t go around having a party because we got three points on Tuesday.

“There were plenty of things we could have improved on but we will take the three points and move on to Sunday’s game.”
