The Seasiders head into tonight’s game against Doncaster Rovers in a rich vein of form having won their last five games on the spin.

Despite Pool’s winning streak, which has elevated them up to 14th in the league table with a game in hand on some clubs, Critchley insists he’s got no interest in their position - for the time being, at least.

“The incentive is to keep consistency of performance, to try and improve what we’re doing,” Pool’s head coach said.

“How do we do that? We speak about not conceding from a corner, how we prevent it from happening and what we can do better.

“If we do that and take care of the process, then the results will hopefully follow and the league table will take care of itself.

“We’ve got a tough run of games coming up but between now and Christmas and early into January, we’ll have a clear indication of where we’re going to be looking at in terms of the second half of the season.

“I’ll be honest, I’ve not looked at the table all season and I’m not just saying that. Every time it comes up on Sky Sports News I turn my head away or turn the television over.

“I’ve got an idea where people are, I’ve got an idea of where we are because you hear it or you read certain things, but in terms of the actual points and where we are, I don’t know.

“I honestly don’t know if the players do the same, I’m sure they probably do. Maybe I’m the only one who doesn’t!

“I will at some point, I just don’t think at this moment in time I need to. But I’ll be foolish not to look at some point.

“We’re just concentrating on other things and if we get those things right, by the end of the season we’ll be where I believe we can be.”

Blackpool have no fresh injury concerns ahead of tonight’s trip to the Keepmoat Stadium, with Matty Virtue (hamstring tendon) and MJ Williams (elbow) the only two to remain sidelined with injuries.

Luke Garbutt has returned to training but tonight’s game is likely to come too soon for the left-back.

“We’ve got no problems thankfully from the weekend, no issues, so we’re getting as close to a clean bill of health as possible which will be really important with a busy period coming up,” Critchley added.

“That will also provide me with some difficult decisions, so some sleepless nights ahead for me but there’s nothing new there.

“As for Luke, he’s back in training, he started training last week so he’ll continue with that.

“He’s getting closer but Tuesday night might come too soon but I would have thought he’ll be in consideration very soon.”
