Key Events
- FT: Blackpool 1-2 Sheff Utd
- Seasiders back at home after back-to-back away games
- Michael Appleton’s side without a win in seven
KICK OFF
After a minute’s applause to mark the sad passing of footballing great Pele, Sonny Carey gets the game underway.
Up the mighty Pool!
3 - Early pressure
Sonny Carey whistles a low shot two or three yards wide.
Good, positive start from the Seasiders. North Stand in fine voice as well.
6 - Bar!
Ian Poveda, who appears to be playing in a free/no.10 role, tries his luck from 25 yards out. Wes Foderingham, a little unconvincingly, tips it onto the top of the crossbar and behind for a corner.
10 - Good defending
Dom Thompson gets across well to clear the danger as Sander Berge surges through the middle.
First time the Blades have threatened.
11 - Close
Close to an early opener for Sheffield United as a Blades man is allowed to turn and shoot in the box. Thankfully it's deflected just wide with Dan Grimshaw seemingly beaten.
18 - Cleared
Dom Thompson sends a weak backpass to Dan Grimshaw which Iliman Ndiaye looks to pounce on, but thankfully Grimshaw is off his line quickly to clear.
18 - GOAL SHEFFIELD UNITED (0-1)
The ball is pulled back for Sander Berge in the box and he has all the time in the world to pick out the far corner. Far too easy.
