The Seasiders head to Suffolk this weekend, looking to continue their recent form having enjoyed back-to-back victories against Wigan Athletic and Northampton Town.

However, beating Ipswich Town away from home is something Blackpool haven’t managed to do in their 13 attempts – something Critchley wants to put right on Saturday.

He told The Gazette: “I didn’t know that, but why not?

“We’ve done it a couple of times this season when we’ve ended teams’ records.

“We won away at Peterborough when they hadn’t lost at home and then we beat Portsmouth at home, who were unbeaten on their travels.

“It would be nice to end that record. We’ve been good at breaking down those barriers, so let’s go to Ipswich and try and pick up three points to carry on our run.

“We want to go on a good run, because momentum is important and you can quickly climb the table with the amount of games we’ve got coming up.

“Three or four victories on the bounce in the space of seven to 10 days can move you a lot of places in this division, so that’s our aim within the next few weeks.”

The Tractor Boys sit directly above Blackpool in the League One table but they have dropped away from the play-off spots in recent weeks following a horrendous run of form.

That has especially been the case at home, where they have lost six of their last seven with the only win coming against bottom side Burton Albion.

“I think most teams are always searching for that consistency. They started off very well but they’ve not been doing as well as of late,” Critchley added.

“There’s nothing to say, with the squad of players they’ve got and the manager they’ve got, they can’t get back up to where they want to be come the end of the season.

“It’s just not happening at this exact moment in time, but I’ve watched a lot of their games recently and they could have easily have won a lot of those games.

“There’s nothing in these games in the division at all.”
