Blackpool arrange new date for postponed League One fixture against Doncaster Rovers
Blackpool’s postponed game against Doncaster Rovers will now take place on the final week of the 2020/21 League One season.
The fixture was originally scheduled for Tuesday, February 23 only for it to be called off due to a waterlogged pitch an hour before kick-off.
It was the seventh Blackpool game to be postponed in what has been a highly disruptive season for Neil Critchley’s men.
Four of those seven cancellations have been weather related for games due to take place at Bloomfield Road, two for a waterlogged pitch and two for a frozen surface.
The game will now be played on Tuesday, May 4 (7pm kick-off).
Following the rearrangement, the Seasiders no longer have any free midweeks remaining between and the end of the season.
This leaves the club in a precarious position should another postponement occur, although there might be some wriggle room prior to the Easter schedule, where Blackpool travel to Swindon Town on Friday, April 2 before hosting Gillingham the following Monday.
Blackpool’s rearranged game against Doncaster will be their penultimate game of the campaign, coming in-between the trip to Northampton Town and the home game against Bristol Rovers on the final day of the season.
