What a 12 months it's been, too.
Here we take a look back at the story of Yates' time at Bloomfield Road so far...
7. Putting a run together
Yates enjoyed a prolific run of form after the turn of the year, scoring seven times in nine games. One of these came in a 5-0 rout of Wigan Athletic.
8. Moment of magic
Yates produced a moment of brilliance to bamboozle two or three Northampton players before taking the ball around the Cobblers keeper and slotting home in a 2-0 win in February.
9. Eye-catching strikes
One of Yates' standout strikes came in a vital 1-0 win against Portsmouth at Fratton Park in February. This was followed up by a double in another away win, this time at Charlton, seven days later.
10. At the double
Jerry Yates produced a brace to help the Seasiders beat high-flying Peterborough 3-1 at Bloomfield Road in March. His first was an excellent snapshot from long range with just a few minutes on the clock.
11. Entering the history books
Yates scored twice during Pool's 4-1 win against Gillingham to become the first Seasider to score 20 goals in a season since Andy Morrell in 2007.
12. Stirring the emotions
Perhaps Yates' most significant goal of the season came in the second leg of Pool's play-off against Oxford. The striker celebrated his effort by holding aloft a t-shirt to pay tribute to Jordan Banks, who had recently passed away in a tragic accident.
