Blackpool fans' views: second-week setbacks follow winning start

Two away games saw the team pick up only one point but put in decent spells of football and possibly not get what they deserved.

Certainly at Morecambe, in front of a sizeable away support, the team really should have been well clear by half-time.

We were running the game, creating chances and generally were in control.

One rash challenge changed the game.

It gave Morecambe a cheap penalty and a route back into the game.

In the second half, we never played with the same fluidity and lost to a soft breakaway.

I still think the division looks wide open and we should be OK.

It’s a scandal and has come to something when staying up in League Two is seen as an improvement.

So the second week of the season certainly wasn’t as good as the first.

A defeat to Morecambe and a draw at Barnet –both
games I think we should be winning.

I was at the Morecambe game at the weekend and in the first half we were brilliant. The only problem was that we only scored once.We will get penalties given against us and bad decisions, but the second-half display was woeful.

We tried to play League Two football instead of the passing game that did so well for us the weekend before.

The Barnet game was a real kick in the teeth. A football game lasts 90-plus minutes, which means you have to be alert at all times and we lost focus in the last minute.

Don’t get me wrong, this will be good for us in the long run but fans want results now.

Bring on Saturday. We need to win our home games to even think about getting out of this league.
