Blackpool to bring in further reinforcements?

They might not have a permanent manager but that will not stop Blackpool continuing to bolster their squad as the capture of Liam Feeney shows.

Blackpool brought in the former Blackburn Rovers winger earlier this week and he goes straight into contention for today’s clash with Accrington Stanley.

He might not be the only new arrival before the end of the month as interim boss Terry McPhillips says the club are working on bringing more signings in.

He said: “We are working on another couple.

“We will have to see on that one but we will know better by the weekend.”

It is also good news on the injury front as Jimmy Ryan and Ryan McLaughlin are back in training.

The Seasiders welcome Stanley to Bloomfield Road, looking to make it back-to-back home wins after Tuesday’s defeat of Coventry City.

McPhillips admitted there may be a selection issue given his players’ displays in training

He said: “Obviously we won the last match and the lads that were not involved or the subs, they trained harder than the lads who played the match and the training was terrific.

“I think it has given the whole place an edge.

“We paired all the lads up, played rock, paper, scissors and the winner gets the shirt.

“But seriously, the lads have given us a headache.

“I don’t know what the team is yet but we will get on with it.

“There should not be eight changes that is for sure but I think there will be changes.”
