Barnet boss disappointed to throw away two-goal lead

Barnet manager Kevin Nugent spoke of his disappointment after watching his side squander a 2-0 lead to draw 2-2 against Blackpool.

Goals from John Akinde and Charlie Clough either side of half time had given the Bees a deserved 2-0 lead.

But the Seasiders fought back with goals from Nathan Delfouneso and Kyle Vassell, with the latter coming in the first minute of stoppage time.

Nugent said his side were "comfortable" yet spoke of his frustration after they somehow conspired to throw away the game.

"Obviously we're disappointed with the result after being 2-0 up," he said.

"We were comfortable and yet we still hadn't played as well as we have done in the last two games.

"I'm still learning about the players and teams are now going long and bombarding the box and we couldn't deal with it. Some of the stuff I saw defensively, I didn't like it.

"There were a few positives but we should have nine points in the bag from my three games in charge, but we have just two.

"There were some good things but they were overshadowed by us conceding two very soft goals.

"It's just disappointing because there were times when we had chances to clear the ball and we just didn't do it. Eventually things just give."
