Alexander is new Fleetwood boss

FLEETWOOD Town have appointed Graham Alexander as their new manager

The former Preston North End and Burnley star has made more than 1,000 appearances at senior level and received 40 international caps for Scotland.

The 41-year-old was appointed Head of Youth Development at Deepdale in June this year - having played his final league game in April.

He takes over the reigns at Highbury from Micky Mellon who was sacked by chairman Andy Pilley following Saturday’s 3-2 FA Cup defeat to Aldershot Town.
