Hide AdAldred faces competition from Gillingham’s Brad Dack, Port Vale’s AJ Leitch-Smith and Sam Winnall from Barnsley.
The 25-year-old is the only defender among the quartet and the judging panel, which comprises former striker Don Goodman and Football League officials, said of Aldred: “A second straight nomination for the linchpin of a defence which let in just three goals in six games, including fixtures against the top three.
“His goal-line clearance preserved the win over Gillingham and he also scored against Scunthorpe United.”
Aldred has made 28 appearances for the Seasiders this season and has been the side’s most consistent performer.

Hide AdHis form hasn’t gone unnoticed by manager Neil McDonald, who said: “Tom leads by example and is a very important player for us.
“He’s played a big part in our defensive improvements, something which is so important to us.
“We work really hard on defending and we are starting to see the results. The important thing is to continue the form and concede as few goals as possible. If we do, we’ll soon climb the table.”
