The 22-year-old is eligible for Wednesday's return to National League action against Kettering at Mill Farm and is reunited with his former Wigan Academy coach Nick Chadwick.

Fylde's assistant boss Chadwick is deputising for manager Jim Bentley, who is spending time away from the club as he prepares for heart surgery next week. Wednesday's game will be Chadwick's first in charge.

The 6’4" centre-back had spells with Charnock Richard and Leek Town before joining Wigan in 2018.

He has featured prominently for Latics' Under-23s and made three National League North appearances on loan with Blyth Spartans last December, then joined Southport before the season was curtailed.

Chadwick told the AFC Fylde website: “ We are really pleased to be able to get Jack in. He’s a commanding centre-back and somebody who enjoys defending, which is something that is really important to us.

“When he came in at Wigan he was highly coveted, with lots of clubs looking at him.

"During my time, I think myself and the rest of the coaching staff polished him up a bit in terms of technique.

"He is a proper centre-half - a defender that likes to defend. He knows his game and knows what he is good at.

“Like all of the players here, he’s always looking to improve his game, so I think he will fit in really well with the group.

" We are all really looking forward to working with him and seeing how he develops during his time here.”
