The second-placed Coasters welcome the Pilgrims to Mill Farm this afternoon in a match-up between two of the fancied sides in the National League North.

Boston are fourth in the table, six points adrift of Fylde, despite having played two games fewer so far this season.

Bentley’s men are then on the road, travelling to Curzon Ashton in midweek.

“We’ve got a tough week,” Bentley told The Gazette.

“It started in midweek with Spennymoor, who we thought were very good. We knew we were in for a tough game against them.

“Now we’ve got Boston, who are exactly the same. They’re a very good side with some very capable players in their ranks, so you can see why they’re one of the favourites this season.

“As I tell the players, we’re expecting some difficult games so we need to make sure we give it our absolute all but I’m sure the managers of the other clubs are saying exactly the same about us because we’re in good form, we’re scoring goals, and we’re tight at the back.

“They’ve got the makings of good games, starting with Boston first. Hopefully we can keep our good run going.

“Boston went close last season through the play-offs and they’ve got a nice blend in their squad of youth and experience.

“They have some well-known players in there who have played at higher levels, players I know myself like Scott Duxbury who was here last season, Jordan Burrow I used to have at Morecambe, and then there’s people like Paul Green in the middle of the park; a very experienced player who knows what the game is all about.

“The squad is littered with quality, so it will be a tough game but we’re at home, we’re looking forward to it and we’re hoping we can keep the run going.

“We got a very good result on Tuesday against one of the fancied sides and it just keeps us ticking along nicely. The points tally is looking good and we’re in good shape.”

After meeting Boston and Curzon, the Coasters had been due to play York City a week today but that match has been postponed.

One of the York players has tested positive for Covid-19, so all their first-team players and staff will be in self-isolation until November 25.
