Coasters’ boss Nick Chadwick made two changes to the side that started in the reverse fixture at Victory Park on Boxing Day.

Jordan Hulme and David Perkins were given the call to replace Jordan Lussey and Junior Mondal.

The Coasters began the game on the front foot, Jack Sampson heading narrowly over with just 45 seconds on the clock following some good work by Luke Conlan.

Chorley midfielder Will Tomlinson tried a volley from range moments later, but it failed to trouble Coasters’ keeper Chris Neal.

It was then Alex Whitmore’s turn to try his luck, seeing a header fly just wide of the mark on 10 minutes after wriggling free of his marker at a corner.

A free-flowing Coasters attack on 21 minutes ended with Luke Burke’s effort from distance stinging the palms of Matt Urwin before being hooked clear.

A good block by Chorley skipper Scott Leather denied Nathan Shaw after the Blackpool loanee had worked the ball onto his favoured left foot and curled an effort towards the back post.

Hulme had a glorious chance on 33 minutes when Tollitt’s mazy run created space for him, only for Urwin to keep out his shot from six yards.

With the first half nearing an end, the home side refused to take their foot off the gas and were rewarded with the opening goal.

Conlan broke forward from left-back and slipped the ball across to Tollitt, who cut inside and curled the ball into the bottom corner to give Fylde the lead at half-time.

The opening exchanges of the second half saw Conlan – who was a threat all afternoon – send a 30-yard strike narrowly over.

Urwin got down well to deny Sampson his first goal for the club, and while Chorley improved, they couldn’t prevent Fylde from scoring again on 67 minutes.

Hulme beat the offside trap with a perfectly-timed run in behind before sending the ball across goal for Danny Philliskirk to tap home.

Chorley refused to lie down as Andy Owens struck the crossbar with a long-range shot but Fylde extended their lead with 15 minutes to go.

Tollitt grabbed his second as he raced onto a through ball from Shaw, took the ball round Urwin and stroked it into an empty net.

The Coasters continued to push for more goals in the closing stages, a ruthless mentality that led to their fourth goal from the penalty spot.

Sampson was the player brought down in the area, allowing Tollitt to step up and send the keeper the wrong way, rounding off a fantastic afternoon for him and his side.
