AFC Blackpool 1 Fleetwood Town Under-18 1: It's far from men v boys in tough tussle
Blackpool were anticipating their toughest pre-season test at Jepson Way and a well organised, exciting Fleetwood side took the game to them from the off.
AFC took aim from distance as they pursued an equaliser but Fleetwood came close to doubling their lead before half-time, when a shot rebounded off the crossbar into the arms of keeper Alex Cameron.
The teams made changes in the second half and AFC played with greater urgency.
Both sides squandered chances in one-on-one situations and it was AFC who scored the only goal of the half, Joe Robinson equalising with a free-kick into the bottom corner four minutes from the end.
