Alastair Taylor golf tips

Many golfers that I see have a driver that suits them and hit their irons pretty well from six-iron iron down.

But they don’t seem to know whether they should be playing with long irons or hybrids. Some golfers struggle to get the ball up enough with long irons and hybrids would offer a better shot and more versatility, while other golfers feel that they lack consistency with hybrids and would rather play with longer irons. The key is to hit the different clubs on a launch monitor and see what heights and distances you reach. Other factors need to be considered such as what type of golf course you play regularly. A golfer who plays at a links course may want longer irons that will produce a lower ball-flight, while a parkland course may want a higher, softer flying ball flight.By putting the correct clubs in your bag it will give you a much better chance of playing your best and reducing your handicap.n To contact Alastair at the Herons’ Reach Golf Academy, telephone 01253 832505.
