These are the famous names confirmed for I'm A Celebrity series 20

The line-up for this year’s series of I'm A Celebrity – which will be set in a Welsh castle due to coronavirus restrictions impeding travel to its usual base in Australia – may have been revealed ahead of time.

Though the line-up has not been officially announced by ITV, The Sun has reported a number of names who are 'confirmed’ for the show.

Here is everything you need to know.

Who’s taking part in this year's show?

Ruthie Henshall

According to The Sun, a TV insider said singer and dancer Henshall in particular was an exciting signing for I’m A Celebrity, “as viewers will want to see if she divulges any gossip on her relationship with Prince Edward.”

The West End veteran has previously admitted she dated the Prince in the early 1990s, and viewers will “be hoping she lets slip some juicy information on her posh ex during cosy, intimate chats round the campfire.”

Russell Watson

Singer Russell Watson fought off a near-fatal brain tumour which required emergency surgery and an extensive rehabilitation programme in 2007.

The Last Choir Standing judge admitted to The Sun the rumoured £100k fee he is receiving for the show is "needed" after a "year of no work."

Hollie Arnold

Paralympian Hollie Arnold took the gold medal in the javelin in the 2016 Summer Paralympics in Rio, while throwing a new World Record at the same time.

She’ll be swapping athletics for the castle and will be hoping to apply her physical prowess to the more physically demanding Bushtucker Trials.

Shane Richie

Actor Shane Richie has also reportedly agreed to take part in the upcoming series.

Best known for his role as Alfie Moon on the BBC soap EastEnders, Richie is said to be interested in the show because “he has less work responsibilities due to Covid-19”, and “going to North Wales is less of a huge commitment than flying halfway across the world”, according to the Daily Mail.

Mo Farah

Another name linked with the show is double Olympic champion Mo Farah, who reportedly headed into isolation recently ahead of making the ruins of Gwrych Castle his home.

A TV insider told The Sun: “Mo’s been a big fan of the show for years and was just waiting for the right time in his career to do it.

Jordan North

The Radio 1 presenter is rumoured to be joining the cast preparing to set up camp in Gwrych Castle.

The show will be North’s first stint in the world of reality TV; before being poached for the prime time gig on Radio 1 in 2018, he worked at the in-house radio station at Blackpool Pleasure Beach, community station Preston FM and Rock FM.

Beverley Callard

Best known for her role as Coronation Street Landlady, Liz McDonald, Callard is the oldest contestant this year at 63-years of age.

She said to be raking in an estimated £125,000 pay cheque for I'm A Celeb, and will be hoping to put in another strong performance, as soap stars tend to do well on the show.

Jessica Plummer

EastEnders star Jessica Plummer only recently left the long-running soap after her character Chantelle was murdered last month, and isn’t wasting any time getting involved with I’m A Celeb.

Producers told The Sun Plummer “will add some glamour to the show”, and said “soap stars always do well in the show.”

AJ Pritchard

The former Strictly Come Dancing professional is making his way to the ‘jungle’, having quit the BBC talent show just three days after lockdown was first imposed on the UK in March.

Pritchard had spent four years on the show and one of the most popular pros; he was able to reach the semi-finals in three consecutive series.

AJ announced he was quitting just three days after the UK went into the lockdown that has devastated the entertainment industry.

Vernon Kay

Presenter Vernon Kay is likely to be taking home one of the bigger pay packets this year, and has reportedly been offered a quarter of a million pounds to take part.

Kay has apparently been approached several times in the past, though ITV bosses have only just managed to sign him up for this year's series.

Giovanna Fletcher

Host of the Happy Mum Happy Baby podcast – which saw The Duchess of Cambridge join as a guest earlier this year – Giovanna Fletcher has racked up a seriously impressive social media following among mums, which is likely to bring a lot of eyes to the show.

The mum-of-three is also a best-selling author with 11 books to her name, and is married to McFly guitarist Tom Fletcher.

Victoria Derbyshire

Popular BBC journalist and news-reader Victoria Derbyshire was one of the first contestants confirmed for this year's series.

An insider told The Sun: “Victoria is always game for a challenge so when she was approached for I’m A Celebrity she jumped at the chance.”

Where is it being filmed?

Since 2002, the show has been filmed in Australia’s New South Wales.

But while bosses of the show tried to get around coronavirus travel restrictions for the 2020 series, they have not been able to secure their usual location this year.

Instead, the show will be filmed in the UK for the first time at Gwrych Castle in Abergele in North Wales, an unoccupied Grade I listed country house said to be haunted.

Extra filming has also been secured at a location called Manorafon Farm Park, which may be the spot in which the Bushtucker trials will take place.

ITV have confirmed that the show will stick to its usual format, with celebs undertaking gross and fun-filled challenges in order to win treats in the lead up to a winner being crowned, and Ant and Dec will continue to host the series.

All celebrities taking part will have to go into isolation for two weeks before filming begins, and will no doubt have to return a negative Covid-19 test before they are allowed to take part.

When can I watch it?

At the time of writing, an official start date for I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here has not been announced by ITV.

However, previous editions of the show have begun in mid-November, so it’s surely only a couple of weeks until I’m A Celeb… returns to screens.

The show’s first episode usually broadcasts on a Sunday, which would suggest that either 15 or 22 November could be the start date for this year's run.
