When looking to settle down and begin married life, the amount of eating establishments and activities such as museums, theatres and cinemas will be a deciding factor for many couples.
A new survey has revealed the best cities for foodies to make the most of restaurants with many of them taking part in the government’s Eat Out to Help Out scheme.

Hide AdLondon takes the top spot for the best UK city for foodie-loving couples. With 15,500 restaurants in London to choose from, couples will be spoilt for choice.
Manchester takes second place with an estimated 686 restaurants, still plenty of choice for couples but significantly less than in London.

The Eat Out to Help Out scheme was announced by Rishi Sunak at the start of August and runs until the end of the month.

Hide AdIt offers everyone in the UK 50 per cent discounts on food and soft drinks every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday in August. The reduction will cap at £10, and the government will reimburse the restaurants for all the discounts.
This includes take-away outlets, including McDonald’s and KFC, if you dine in at them and chains like Nandos and Pizza Express.
In London, those taking part range from dirty burgers in Brixton to Michelin-starred meals in Mayfair.The big names taking part include Angela Hartnett’s Michelin-starred Italian Murano will be offering the deal, as will the Bermondsey and St James’s locations of her more casual Cafe Murano restaurants.
Jason Atherton’s Michelin-starred flagship restaurant is involved as is his Soho spot Social Eating House. Black Bear Burger One - among best dirty burger outlets - in the capital will offer discounts at its Brixton sites.

Hide AdIn Manchester the places to be include Archie’s, The Refuge, By Ciaooo, Three Little Words, Dishoom, Albert’s Schloss, Mamucium, Bem Brasil and Brew Dog.
Those in Leeds can check out Bundobust, Blue Sakura and Grumpy’s.
Places in Glasgow taking part include Café Wander, Chaakoo Bombay Café and German Doner Kebab.Edinburgh restaurants taking part include The Broughton, The Beach House Cafe and Butternut Squash.
In Leicester, where restrictions have been lifted in the city centre, diners can check out Orton’s Brasserie and Chutney Ivy.
