If you are growing tired of playing the same old games, reading books, or binge watching every television show you can find, this Thursday (30 Apr) you can get involved in something a bit different - in the form of a virtual quiz.

What is the Big Virtual Quiz?

Those who are missing the buzz of quiz night at their local pub can put their general knowledge to the test again this week by taking part in the Big Virtual Quiz Night.

Hosted by the Big Issue Foundation, the quiz is part of a huge fundraising effort to help raise funds for Big Issue vendors, who currently have no source of income.

The coronavirus outbreak has put a stop to must fundraising events, but the Big Issue’s frontline team are still working alongside the magazine to provide housing, healthcare, training, education and employment support to vendors.

The foundation has been working hard to connect vendors with services that are placing them in short-term hotel accommodation, as well as providing support alongside other vital charities on tenancies, mental health, domestic violence and accessing food banks.

Donations for participating in the Big Virtual Quiz Night will continue to support this effort.

How can I take part?

The Big Issue Foundation is encouraging the British public to form quiz teams in their household and put their brains to the test on Thursday.

The quiz will be live streamed on Facebook from 7.30pm until 9.30pm, and answers will be marked in real-time so a winner can be revealed at the end.

To take part, you simply need to sign up online.

You can register either as a team or individually, and a donation is required to enter.

Entrants will then be sent a link to join the event via email, along with an answer sheet, before the quiz starts.
